As we head towards ANZAC day, here is an update from our students currently travelling in France: "We’ve just spent 5 days in the northern part of France and in Belgium discovering the areas in which NZ soldiers fought during World War 1. We were hosted in Le Quesnoy, a village that was liberated by NZ soldiers in 1918, and where a new museum has recently opened. The museum has been developed by Weta Workshop. We continued into Belgium, seeing Flanders Fields and laying a wreath as part of the Last Post ceremony at the Menen Gate. After a day in Bruges we have now arrived at Bourg-en-Bresse with our home stays. The students have experienced the 8am start for lessons (!), the school cafeteria (much like an American one), and the very different school life! " ... See MoreSee Less

Special congratulations to Will Brown who won the Under 15 Boys’ High Jump, Bea Christie who won the Under 16 Girls’ 80m Hurdles and earned silver in the Pole Vault and bronze in the Shot Put, and massive congratulations too to the Boys’ Under 15 Relay team of Jayden Dawson, Will Brown, Odin Bartlett and Will Fleming who gained an awesome silver medal in their final. Brigadier James Hargest

We keep faith | Ka whakapono tonu atu mātou

Brigadier James Hargest was a local and national hero and an inspiration to all those who come to our school. Brigadier James Hargest gave his life in WWII and is buried in Normandy, hence the school’s use of the Normandy Lion, our “Leo.”

Like him, we have a strong set of values that every student is encouraged to aspire to.
