The Hargest values create the standards for behaviour within our school. The cornerstones are clear expectations and boundaries based on mutual respect and fairness. A careful approach to student welfare ensures every student has the support to cope with the teenage years. Our aim is for each student id to develop to their potential.
Hargest creates a caring, safe and orderly school environment in which students can develop as respectful and considerate citizens. Hargest places strong emphasis on responsibility to groups and the wider community.
Homeroom and Form teachers in years 7 -10 take a personal interest in the progress and achievement of their students and report to parents on performance and well being. They provide the first point of contact for parents.
Form teachers are supported by syndicate leaders and Deans who oversee the welfare and progress of year level groups. They are responsible for the placement of students and liaison with parents.
The Guidance Team work with students and their families to provide a sound support base so that any problems can be identified and addressed. Our Counsellors offer a confidential, specialist service which helps students discover their own strengths.
A Careers Advisor and a full-time Careers Manager work to provide students of all ages with advice on appropriate course structures and career choices.
Teachers have high expectations for students' behaviour and achievement.
