Hargest students are encouraged to meet life with confidence, courage and curiosity. Boys and girls work, learn and interact in a natural setting reflecting the community they are part of.
Students have access to many classrooms and specialist teaching spaces during intervals and lunchtimes, often unsupervised by staff. This trust in the use of the facilities has created a culture at Hargest that reflects responsibility and honesty.
Self analysis and goal setting are encouraged from the first days at the Junior Campus. Students reflect on their abilities and weaknesses and set realistic and achievable short term goals for their own learning development. Parents and teachers assist by helping in the formation of these goals and are involved in the reflective phase.
We are committed to working in partnership with students, parents and caregivers to achieve the best possible outcomes. Parents are kept well informed in candid interviews and in open written evaluations of student progress.
Our school has a culture of encouragement, friendship and fun. The special relationships between staff and students and the life long friendships students have with each other are a testament to the success of our co-education environment. |
