Biology explores the living world, its ecology, plant and animal life processes and relationships between biology and technology.

It is useful and often essential for students intending to enter tertiary studies in biology, nursing, medicine, veterinary and allied fields. It is also useful if you have an interest in furthering your general understanding of the living world.  This years Biology students have traipsed the beach down at Tiwai investigating and sampling the life on the Tiwai Rocky Shore as well as many hands on experiences such as dissections and investigating animal behaviour.

Bayer Boost Scholarship

Bailey has also won a Bayer Boost Scholarship.  This scholarship will allow her to work on a project with Environment Southland towards a Silver CREST project monitoring pollution levels in one of the local rivers and where the pollution is coming from.
