SouthSpell is an English based competition open to all schools in Southland. It is organised and run by staff from the Junior Campus. 52 teams entered, 31 in Year 5 and 6 and 21 in Year 7 and 8. Each team consists of four pupils. We were lucky to be sponsored once again by Number Works ‘n Words who provided all participants with pens and prizes of drink bottles, back packs, book marks and chocolate calculators. The competition was closely contested. James Hargest performed exceptionally well with the Year 8 team winning the competition. Thanks to all the staff who helped to run this event.
The winning Year 8 team consisted of Amelia McEwen, Anna Morris, Daniel McKenzie and Finn Cruickshank
