On 5 February ten Year 13 students flew to Melbourne for a week we would never forget. We visited a huge range of facilities that specialise in astrophysics, electronics, particle acceleration, infectious diseases and cancer research, just to name a few. However, whilst it was all amazing and eye opening to the applications of science, nothing compared to the once in a lifetime flight over Antarctica. Glued to the windows we watched as the infamous Mount Erebus passed before our eyes, followed by glacier upon glacier. Nothing can ever compare to the experience we had on the Antartica/Melbourne science trip.
