Senior Campus:
Our two Chess teams performed well at the recent Otago Southland Chess tournament in Dunedin. The JHC A team (Ron Gelik, Corbin Fraser, Hasnula Hewa Babaranda and Michael Clinckett) were 4th in Otago/Southland and 1st team from Southland. The B team (Eulalia Terra Teodoro, Alexander Cunningham, Noah Jaleeludeen, Fernando Rios Farias and Seko Hubber-Peckham) were 14th in Otago/Southland.
Our players have had individual success as well. In the recent Chess Power tournament, James Hargest players took all top the top 7 placings.

Junior Campus:
The Junior Campus was also the top pleased team at the Otago/Southland tournament in Dunedin. They have qualified to play in the National tournament.
James Hargest College gained distinction for winning the Intermediate section of the Chess Power regionals at Waihopai School.
