Footie Fever!

Footie Fever!

James Hargest Football club had a great time travelling to Dunedin and watching English Premiership team Newcastle United (Toon Army) beat Sydney AFC 4- 0 at the Forsythe Barr stadium. It was an entertaining journey, with both Mr Oliver, Mr Byatt and Mr Marsh teaching the pupils some “Geordie” (Newcastle language) phrases such as “Howay Man” and songs, and the pupils singing current pop songs (badly). One of the highlights was William Hammond (11 MMTN) winning the best dressed supporter and receiving a Newcastle shirt signed by the players. He even got his picture posted on the big screen at half time, which was then seen in England by his family and friends. Good luck to William who is moving back to his home town of Daventry in Northamptonshire England. Your team will miss you.
