NZ Young Farmers’ Teen Ag Competition

Saturday 7th February saw the NZ Young Farmers’ Teen Ag regional finals in Queenstown. James Hargest College had two teams competing: Brayden King and Callum Botting were in Round 1 and Jerinte Knol and Hannah Wilson in Round 2. Both teams enjoyed the challenges which involved measuring deer antler, naming clouds, putting up a short section of fence, a general knowledge quiz and labelling then attaching a horses bridle among other things. The students did not progress to the face off round but have learned a lot which will be great if they enter again next year.

James Hargest College Teen Ag club, which is part of NZ Young Farmers, will be running events this year for students interested in rural life.
