Reciprocal French Exchange

A lovely group of 10 students, out of a contingency of 22 students, from Lalande High School in the city of Bourg en Bresse in France attended JHC for two weeks in February.  The group experienced kiwi home life, schooling and sightseeing with their host families.  There were also organised trips and events - a pot luck dinner, a Leo presentation, Te Rau Aroha Marae, a cruise at Milford Sound and a fierce competition of bubble ball - France versus New Zealand!

Wonderful experiences were had and fantastic friendships were formed.  Most of the Hargest host students will be travelling over to France in April to experience the French lifestyle and they will be hosted by the family of the student whom they just hosted. This four week trip will also include five days in Paris and a two-day tour of Arras and Le Quesnoy (which were historic places for NZ during World War 1). The countdown of the number of sleeps until they meet again has started already!
