Shakespeare Speech competition

Each competitor presented a prepared piece and then took part in an impromptu group performance from Hamlet. The competition was adjudicated by Jonathan Tucker 
Individual presentations
• Natasha Guha-Tyrie presented a monologue by Phoebe from As You Like It
• Mackenzie Fallow performed an extract from Richard the Third, Act 1 Scene 1 - Richard
• Donald McIntosh presented the epilogue from A Midsummer Night’s Dream - Puck
• Darcy Herrick performed a scene from Macbeth- Lady Macbeth, Act 1 Scene 5- Lady Macbeth
• Liam Barnes presented a scene from The Merchant of Venice - Act 3 Scene 1 - Shylock • Wilson Ludow performed Othello, Act 1 Scene 1- Iago
• Rachel Boniface presented a piece from Hamlet, Act 4, Scene 5 - Ophelia
Impromptu Piece
All performers then presented an extract from Hamlet, Act 1 Scene 2. A scene where the King, Queen, Laertes and Polonius discuss Hamlet’s miserable frame of mind after his father’s death. While Hamlet has suspicions of his own. Results 1st Liam Barnes 2nd Rachel Boniface
