Southland Secondary Schools’ Orienteering Championships
Sunday 3 May was a cool but clear day which is also the way to sum up the mindset of the James Hargest team as they set about dominating the local Orienteering scene at the Southland Secondary Schools’ Championships.
The result was emphatic as our students won 8 of the 16 events and the attitude displayed by each of our students was impressive also, they were enthusiastic, alert and sportsmanlike throughout the day.
Among our many successes on the day, special mention should go to Anna Redmond for winning the Senior Girls’ Experienced event and to Connor Coatsworth who, as a year 9 student competed in the Senior Novice class and won by a significant margin.
