During term two our Year 7 classes have been finding out about sustainability. Our Inquiry around this topic has led us in many different directions, with some classes looking at ways we can be more environmentally sustainable, while other classes have focused on economic sustainability within our community.
During week eight Room 5 ventured out into our community, looking at how we can have a positive impact on the environment and people around us.
We had several groups going in different directions; from beach and bush track clean ups, to school visits educating Primary students and others visiting our local Salvation Army Food Bank, where we supplied food and found out more about this community facility.
A huge thank you to the whanau members who provided transport and support for these groups. It was an incredibly productive and educationally valuable afternoon.
