Students who live inside the city boundary and who wish to use bus transport have to pay for the service. Generally these are public routes, although in one or two cases this service is combined with a rural school bus route.
Students who live outside the city boundary (4.8km from the school) are entitled to free bus transport on rural routes, which arrive at James Hargest via trans-shipment points on Queens Drive, Racecourse Road or Chesney Street. Otatara students travel direct on a Hargest only bus.
Information about specific pick-up and drop-off times at any point along the route can best be obtained direct from the bus company. (McDermott's).
Mr Pannett at James Hargest is the liaison person for all bus matters, and is happy to help with any queries.
