Junior Campus Book Day

The Junior Campus was very excited to hold their annual book day after previous Covid disruptions. This year we held our day as close as we could to International Literacy Day which occurs on 8 September. There were so many amazing book character costumes from the students. They embraced the day with enthusiasm and creativity.

Syndicates gathered in the hall throughout the morning to challenge their knowledge of children’s literature, with a kahoot quiz and first line of a book competition. Syndicate leaders also shared their favourite book with students at this assembly. All students competed in rotations with different teachers involving activities such as art, puppetry, scattergories and even quidditch. Other competitions were held prior to the day, including writing, digital storytelling and designing a book cover.

The library had their own dramas occurring too with a mystery needing solved. Huge thanks to the amazing staff who dressed up for the day, your characters were superb and definitely added to the atmosphere created for our ākonga. It really was absolutely amazing to see faces, and have fun and laughter with the return of this Junior Campus event to our calendar.
