Outdoor Recreation is a new, exciting and challenging programme. 

Students have the opportunity to:

The four main modules are:

  • Kayaking
  • Tramping
  • Rock Climbing
  • Mountain Biking

  • High Ropes Course

Outdoor Recreation

This year Mr Marsh and students in Year 12 Outdoor Recreation welcomed new teacher, Miss Hamilton, to the programme. Miss Hamilton comes to us after more than a decade of experience as an Outdoor Recreation instructor. This year students covered four main modules: Kayaking, Tramping, Rock Climbing and Mountain Biking. Camps were the highlight of each module:

Kayak Camp at Mavora Lakes

Rakiura Track Tramp at Stewart Island

Snow Caving/Cross Country Skiing at Snow Farm near Wanaka

Rock Climbing/Mountain Biking at Wanaka

There were a number of international students on the course from countries such as Germany, South Africa, France and Taiwan.
