Our Junior Campus Choir was involved in the massed singing event held at the Civic Theatre on Thursday 11th September. Sing Out 2025 was held over two nights, with different schools involved on the Wednesday than the Thursday night. There were around ten local Kura involved each evening, sharing both massed songs and their own school items. Our JHC Junior Choir made us proud with a toe tapping rendition of some Beatles favourites, including: Hey Jude, Yellow Submarine and Twist and Shout. Our own item soloists, Declan Lawton-Dutt and Malia Bragg, did an amazing job with their duet for ‘Hey Jude’.
There are a lot of talented rangatahi at the Junior Campus and we had several of them involved in some of the massed choir items with special roles. Abigail Rankin and Willa Ellis joined the Waihopai troupe of line dancers during the song ‘Some Days You Gotta Dance’. Nathan Johnstone was also involved in this song, playing a solo violin part with passion and skill. Emma Jolly did an amazing job of her solo part for the song ‘Story of My Life’ by One Direction.
All in all a very successful event showing off the awesome music talent of our students
