Junior Campus
On Tuesday the 9th of March, we had a stunning day at Surrey Park for our Junior Campus Athletics. It was spectacular to see so many students trying their best on each of their track and field events, earning as many points as they could for their house.
Students were given the option to enter into Championship or Non-championship events. Being in a Championship event meant that if a student performed exceedingly well, their result was recorded. On the day, we had six outstanding students who managed to break nine previous records in their age group events.
New Record Holders
In the 10 year old girls, Laura Davis jumped 1.19m in high jump, and 4.02m in long jump, while Jesse Mercer threw 16.20m in discus. In the 12 year old girls, Kyra Savory ran the 1500m in 5.39.33, and the 800m in 2.40.90. In the 10 year old boys, Max Savory ran 1500m in 5.54.32. In the 11 year old boys, Will Brown ran 1500m in 5.23.92, and jumped 1.40m in high jump, while Will Fleming jumped 4.39m in long jump.
We also acknowledged and awarded an age group winner for students who consistently demonstrated their outstanding ability across several track and field Championship events:
10 year old girls winner - Laura Davis
10 year old boys winner - Max Savory
11 year old girls winner - Lily Keast
11 year old boys winner - Will Brown
12 year old girls joint winners - Lilah Jack and Kyra Savory
12 year old boy’s winner - Samson Parkinson
Congratulations to all students who participated to the best of their ability, and a big thank you to all the staff, parents, and students who helped make this event possible.
