Rowing continues to thrive at Hargest. The past season has been one of “rebuilding” as many of our senior students have either left or taken early retirement. The outstanding individual result was Max Dawson gaining a gold medal at the National Champs in the Men’s Senior Quad. Max crewed the boat with three ex Hargest students – Nathan and Hayden Cohen plus Dylan Milford.
A strong group of novice rowers have started the sport over the past two years so we can look forward to more titles in the future.
Special thanks must go to the coaches who continue to support our school rowers at both clubs. Rowing must have the largest proportion of training hours related to actual competition of any sport, so the hours spent by the coaches is always appreciated. Maadi Cup is the highlight of school rowing but, in fact, most competitive rowing is done wearing the club colours.
